Vicki North, LPC

Vicki North has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1999. She joined Breaking Free, LLC in June 2018 after more than 21 years at The Counseling Center in Albany. Most people come to counseling because of a situation in their lives that they have been unsuccessful in managing in healthy ways. Vicki uses a variety of therapeutic interventions to help her client so be successful in making the changes they want to make in their lives.
She sees adults and children for talk therapy and currently does group therapy with Veterans diagnosed with PTSD. She uses her Level 1 Gottman Institute training to help couples enrich the quality of their relationships. She is trained in EMDR for trauma recovery and specialized in mood, anxiety, adjustment, and eating disorders.
She is married to Jack and has 2 children. Grandchildren are a tremendous blessing in her life. She does volunteer work through her faith community and did disaster relief work for the Red Cross. She Helped victims of many disasters including 9/11 and hurricane Katrina. She enjoys travel, doing family history research, gardening, knitting, crocheting, English smocking and reading science fiction and mystery novels.

My passion is to help those in pain by counseling those in need with a humble and non-judgmental heart, and working with couples who want to better their relationship. Counseling couples is my specialty. I can help you in finding relief or recovery from the impact of the following: relational problems in the family or couples, abuse, violence or other traumatic experiences or loss, anguish or nerves, depression, behavioral or learning problems, eating disorders, chronic pains, different addictions, mental health disorders; and many more. What is most important for healing is the therapeutic relationship we build together.
Specific specialties I work with are: Marital or Relationship Issues-rebuilding healthy communication, resolving conflict and improving intimacy., Family issues related to separation or divorce, Specialized counseling for victims of physical, psychological or sexual abuse, Problems related to career or workplace frustration.
Christine Dowd, LPC

Christine has been working as a licensed counselor since 2015. She recently transferred her professional credentials from New York State to Oregon, and has been working as an LPC for Breaking Free, LLC since January, 2019.
She believes we are all capable of healing, of allowing healing to occur in our lives, that we are all capable of dealing with life's changes, and believing in our ability to make positive change come to fruition. She feels that for as much as we are all similar, we are also all different. Because we are all different She utilizes an eclectic approach toward therapy, with a reliance on cognitive behavioral, interpersonal and dialectical behavioral techniques. She looks forward to helping you through next challenge or transition in your life.
